Martin is an accomplished and visionary consultant with a track record of achievements. He has demonstrated international and domestic experience in demanding roles, leading both start up and growth organisations. He is a decisive leader, strategic thinker and has a strong business acumen. In his role with LBSPartners, Martin works with businesses across multiple sectors, including: Medical Device, Manufacturing, Engineering and IT. He specialises in Business Process Improvement, Change Management, Six Sigma Methodologies, Leading with Lean, Programme and Project Management, Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence.

PCH International – Vice President Operations

Martin worked for nearly two years in Shenzhen, China as the VP of Operations with PCH International where he oversaw efficiency, quality and sustainability programs within the PCH factories and its suppliers’ facilities to improve operational performance and profitability. He provided guidance to senior management to improve factory operational metrics and introduced project management methodologies to reduce project costs and cycle times.

Bolgers – Engineering Manager

Martin led the engineering group that managed new product projects, from concept to introduction. He developed key strategic and lean initiatives which included organisational design changes, reduction in operational costs and improvements to key engineering processes.

Lasertech – Owner and Managing Director

Martin led the set up and development of Lasertech; a printer and office supplies company in Limerick. He was responsibly for the development and implementation of the company’s business plan, including: sales, operations, distribution and financial management. The company saw year on year success within a challenging and competitive environment.

Dell Computers– Director of Engineering & Quality, European Operations

Martin held a number of senior operations roles over a decade working with Dell Computers in Limerick. As Director of Engineering & Quality, Martin led the engineering and quality functions with responsibility for new product introductions, manufacturing engineering, safety, high level technical support, product quality and process quality. He led the lean initiatives to drive improvements across the company’s operations and managed the 6 sigma quality program evolution and deployment across marketing, sales, manufacturing, finance and HR.

Earlier Career

Martin began his career in England as a test and systems engineer. Upon returning to Ireland, Martin worked with ABB in various roles, including: quality assurance engineering, technical support supervisor, production manager, software manager and European project manager. He also worked for ABB in Ohio, USA, for three years as the company’s production manager, responsible for an operating budget of $8 million and 150 staff members. Martin returned to Ireland in 1994 to work for AST Computer in Limerick where he held positions as Operations Director and Management Director until 1998.

  • Led manufacturing operations ranging from high volume (3 million units/qtr; 2000 people) to complex customised operations ($500,000 per system)
  • Played a key role in restructuring PCH International, in China, into business units to position the company for future growth.
  • Managed company set-up of Lasertech Franchise in Limerick; grew sales by 33% year-on-year; reduced costs by 10% year-on-year and reduced cash cycle by 20%.
